Communitas is a community choir with over 30 members, run as part of the Converge centre at York St John University. We sing a wide variety of songs – English folk, gospel, African, etc. The songs are taught aurally and there is no requirement to read music or to be a trained musician – it’s all about enjoying singing, finding your voice and having fun! The choir meets every Tuesday evening during term times, from 6pm to 7.30pm, and welcomes people who use mental health services, university students and staff.
